Eligibility
- A registered foreign resident who has stayed 4 years or more on E-9, E-10 or H-2 status within the last 10 years
- Currently working normally at your workplace
- An annual salary of KRW 26 million or more at your current workplace (KRW 25 million for farming, livestock, fishing and coastal shipping) with a 2-year employment contract ahead
- Recommended by a company where you have worked for 1 year or more
- At least 50 points each in income and Korean ability, and 200 points or more in total including bonus points
- (Exception) If you have stayed 3 years or more outside the Seoul metropolitan area and hold a provincial government recommendation, the residence requirement above is treated as met
- (Exception) If you meet every requirement except Korean and score 150 points or more, the Korean requirement is deferred until 31 December 2026 on condition that you meet it by your first (2-year) extension
Disqualifications
- Anyone fined KRW 3 million or more
- Anyone in arrears on taxes (you may apply once fully paid)
- Anyone who has violated the Immigration Act 4 times or more
- Anyone who has overstayed for 3 months or more
- Anyone deemed likely to harm the interests of Korea or public safety
- Anyone deemed likely to harm economic or social order, or public morals

Bonus items

The employer recommendation (50 pts) and a ministry or provincial government recommendation (30 pts) add up, for up to 80 points. Only one of the ministry and provincial recommendations counts.
